Et hop, voici les sous titres que je vous ai gentiment concocté, attention les yeux : Hello again I'm Rodney Reynolds and welcome to another videoreview. Today I'm looking at the HIS Radeon HD 3870 video card. What's included with the HIS HD 3870 videocard is a quick installation guide, software, drivers, two half-life 2 games, Lost Coast and Deathmatch, DVI to VGA dongle, DVI to HDMI dongle, a component video adapter, a composite video adapter, as well there's a crossfire bridge. The new line of Radeon HD 3800 series videocard are currently available in two different models : the 3870 and the 3850. These are both next generation products but the 3870 has faster memory and core speed and comes with 512 MB of GDDR4 memory as opposed to the 256 MB GDDR3 memory on the 3850 model. The HIS Radeon HD 3870 videocard has a PCI Express interface of 2 compared to the last generation which has a PCI interface of 1. This video card is based on the RV 670 XT core which is built on the 55 nanometers manufacturing process and has 666 million transistors. The cooler on this card is quite massive and, is comprized with a plastic top with a blower style fan. This fan pulls in cool air forces in across the heatsink which is just inside, then pours over warm air out the back of the case. It's an extra design that works extremly well and is used on most HIS videocards products. This fan is also temperature controled which means it automatically adjusts the fan speed based upon the videoprocessor unit temperature to achieve the best cooling possible. The only downsight of this cooler is that it occupies two expansion slots. Now let's have a closer look at this large heatsink. It's all copered with many thins and comes in direct contact with the GPU and memory. This is one fantastic cooler which will have no problem keeping the videocard cool under default speeds, in almost any environnement. However, if you want to overclock it, I would recommand additional case cooling just to be safe. This card has two DVI connections and the video out connection. It also requires a 6 Pin power cable connection and surprisingly, this videocard doesn't consume a lot of power, only 105 Watts at maximum load. The core speed on this product is 775 Mhz and the 512 MB of GDDR4, 266 bit memory is 2.25 Ghz DDR.It comes with 320 stream processing units for vertex pixel and geometry data, 16 texture units, 16 r... operators. The fill rate is aproximately 12400 millions pixels per second and the memory bandwith is 72 MB per second. This videocard has many new technologies, too many to go over in details in this video, but let me cover the main once. It has a 256 bit memory interface, custom filter antialiasing, unified superscalar shader architecture, tesselation, high definition multimedia interface output support, and Directx 10 which is exclusive to Windows Vista operating system. Directx 10 is the key technology that stands out because that offers much better graphics than Directx 9. In this video you can clearly see the differences between Directx 9 and Directx 10. DX10 offers more dynamic lighting, added detail, realistic shadows, richer scenes, complex environnements, and so on... This is possible because it manages data between the CPU and videocard much better. This result seem optimal use of the CPU and video card for special tasks like graphic effects AI and physics resulting in the best performance possible and offers an unreal gaming experience. Additionnally another new exciting technology that is impressive is Avivo HD Video and Display Platform which essentially enables superior quality, and a high definition visual experience. This videocard also supports duel display, and this means using two displays rather than one, will tremendously increase workspace. This videocard is also Crossfire multi GPU ready. These latest ATI video cards use a small crossfire bridge to connect each video card together instead of the composite external cable once used. This makes installation much easier. This video card performs really well and has 3 key technologies that are different from the previous generation of videocards, and they are the PCI Express version 2, DX 10.1, and the four videocards crossfire configuration which you can't have, of course, you can't have 4 videocards in just any motherboard. You've got to have a compatible motherboard, in order to do that. The other thing that really impresses me about this video card is that all this technology and great performance comes at a very affordable cost. Overall, this is a kickass product. Be sure to check back very soon, I will have a brand new one for you then, also probably at my website at www.3dGameman.com and while you're there, you can to the forums and register, and remember registration is completely free. Also keep in mind that you can find there lot more on this product in the forums. And here's a final note : if you loved watching my videoreviews, please remember to help support through the GameMan.com, if you wish to support, please visit Support3Gm.com. Until the next time, take care ! Et voilà, j'espère que ça contentera ceux qui comprennent pas bien l'anglais.
